Product information

Our polycarbonate windows are hand crafted to order by our experienced UK based team. They are designed to be safe, strong and lightweight, making them ideal for motorsport. They are much stronger than glass and shatterproof, unlike Perspex and other acrylics, so you are well protected whilst driving.

Our standard windows are manufactured from 4mm thick polycarbonate to comply with Motorsport UK regulations, whilst we also 5mm FIA compliant and hard-coated options for those looking tougher windows.

All of our windows are available in a choice of clear, bronze or grey polycarbonate so can choose the windows that best suit your car. You also have the option to add window sliders to either one or both of the front door windows depending on your preference.

How long does an order take to ship?

We will confirm receipt of your order straight away and will be in touch if we have any questions regarding your order. Standard polycarbonate orders are usually manufactured and despatched within 1-2 weeks of the order being placed. Specialist orders - for example if you choose hard-coating plastic - will take longer, but we will contact you and discuss this with you. If you need your order by a certain date then please let us know.

Can I fit the window myself?

Yes, it is straight forward to remove an existing window and install a RacePlastics polycarbonate window. There are plenty of guides on YouTube to help you do this.

Can I collect the order myself?

Yes, we usually courier orders out to our customers, but if you contact us, we can arrange for collection from our Leeds factory.

How can I change my order?

If you need to discuss or change your order in any way, please get in touch with the team at the earliest chance. We will always try to accommodate any changes but costs may be incurred if the manufacturing process has already started.

The Mini Classic MK1 rally car

In the annals of motorsport history, few vehicles command the reverence and adoration bestowed upon the Mini Classic Mk1 rally car. From its humble beginnings as a practical urban runabout to its transformation into a rallying legend, the Mk1 Mini has etched its name indelibly in the enthusiast scene.

Introduced in 1959, the Mk1 Mini's revolutionary design captured the imagination of drivers and spectators alike. Its iconic appearance, with its compact dimensions, transverse engine, and unmistakable styling, endeared it to generations of automotive enthusiasts. It was a car that transcended mere transportation; it was a cultural icon.

However, it was on the rally stage where the Mk1 Mini truly cemented its legacy. With its nimble handling, front-wheel-drive layout, and spirited engine, the Mini was perfectly suited for the challenging and diverse terrains of rally competitions. It was a true David among Goliaths, punching above its weight and outmanoeuvring larger, more powerful rivals with ease.

Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, the Mini Classic Mk1 racked up an impressive list of victories and podium finishes in rally events around the world. Its crowning achievement came in 1964 when Paddy Hopkirk and Henry Liddon piloted a Mini Cooper S to victory at the prestigious Monte Carlo Rally, stunning the motorsport world and cementing the Mini's status as a rallying powerhouse.

Central to the Mini's rallying success was the Cooper S variant, developed by the legendary John Cooper. The Cooper S boasted a more powerful engine, upgraded suspension, and aerodynamic enhancements, further enhancing the Mini's performance and competitiveness on the rally stage. It was a true thoroughbred, capable of taking on the toughest rally courses with aplomb.

Even today, the Mini Classic Mk1 rally car continues to be celebrated in the enthusiast scene. Its enduring legacy is a testament to its remarkable design, outstanding performance, and unparalleled success on the rally stage. It remains a symbol of innovation, determination, and the indomitable spirit of motorsport.
