Product information

Every Race Plastics window is custom-made by our experienced team in the UK. Built for motorsport, these polycarbonate windows are lightweight, shatterproof, and far stronger than glass. Unlike acrylics or Perspex, they won’t crack under pressure—giving you peace of mind when you’re pushing hard.

Our standard spec uses 4mm thick polycarbonate, meeting key racing regulations. If you need more strength, we also offer 5mm FIA-compliant windows and hard-coated options for extra durability and scratch resistance.

Windows come in clear, bronze, or grey tints, so you can match the look to your build. You can also add sliders to either or both front doors, depending on how you want to manage airflow.

Window Sliders

Our slider kits are built from the same high-quality polycarbonate as your main windows. Designed for both driver and passenger sides, they’re smooth, secure, and built to last.

You can choose between:

  • Smooth operation with three fixed positions, no rattle
  • Simple and reliable, with two preset stops

Easy to fit and made to avoid rubbing or scratches, these sliders are ideal whether you need more air on track or better control on the road. For full specs, visit the Window Slider Kits page.

How long does shipping take?

We’ll confirm your order right away. Standard polycarbonate kits are usually built and shipped within 3 weeks. Custom or hard-coated orders may take longer—we’ll reach out to confirm the lead time. If you’ve got a race coming up, let us know and we’ll do what we can to hit your timeline.

Can I install the windows myself?

Yes. Most builds are straightforward and there are plenty of how-to videos online. Unless stated otherwise, our windows are made to fit into standard rubber seals. Need bolt-in versions? Just reach out.

Can I pick up my order?

We usually ship via courier, but yes—collection from our Leeds facility can be arranged. Just drop us a message.

Need to change your order?

Get in touch as soon as you can. We’ll do our best to make changes, but if production’s already started, there may be a cost to amend the order.

The Land Rover Discovery MK3 rally car

Some SUVs are built for the school run. Others, like the Land Rover Discovery Mk3, are built to climb mountains, cross deserts, and wade through rivers, and still be comfortable enough to take the family out for dinner afterward. Launched in 2004, the third-generation Discovery wasn’t just an update, it was a complete reinvention, a blend of rugged off-road toughness and modern luxury, making it one of the most capable and versatile 4x4s of its time.
From the outside, the Mk3 Discovery looked more refined and upmarket than its predecessors. It had a more squared-off, modern design, but don’t let that fool you, this was still very much a Land Rover underneath. The high ground clearance, short overhangs, and serious approach angles made sure it could still tackle rocky trails and muddy fields with ease. Whether in the urban jungle or the actual jungle, the Discovery felt right at home.
Under the bonnet, the Mk3 came with a choice of proper powerplants. The 4.4-litre Jaguar-sourced V8 was a smooth operator with plenty of grunt, but the real star was the 2.7-litre TDV6 diesel. It had torque for days, making it ideal for towing, off-roading, and long-haul adventures. Paired with a six-speed automatic or manual gearbox, it provided strong pulling power, solid reliability, and surprisingly decent fuel efficiency for a heavy 4x4.
But what really set the Mk3 apart was its technology. This wasn’t just a rugged off-roader, it was one of the most advanced SUVs of its era. Land Rover introduced the Terrain Response system, a game-changer for both experts and amateurs. With a simple dial, you could choose settings for mud, sand, snow, rocks, or tarmac, and the car would automatically adjust the suspension, traction, and throttle response to suit. It was like having an off-road driving instructor built into the dashboard.
The Discovery Mk3 also introduced an independent air suspension setup, which made it shockingly comfortable on the road while still providing superb articulation and ground clearance off-road. It was a true all-rounder, capable of tackling extreme terrain yet refined enough for long motorway drives without breaking a sweat.
Inside, it was built for adventure and luxury in equal measure. The three-row seating setup meant it could comfortably carry seven adults, and the cabin was solidly built, packed with premium materials, and filled with practical touches. There was enough space for luggage, gear, dogs, and everything in between. Whether you were heading to the Alps, the Outback, or just the local supermarket, the Discovery felt ready for anything.
In real-world use, the Discovery Mk3 became a legend among overlanders, farmers, and explorers. It was the kind of 4x4 that you could load up with camping gear, point towards the horizon, and just keep driving until the road ran out, because when it did, the Discovery wouldn’t care. It would just keep going.
Despite its off-road pedigree, the Discovery Mk3 was also a hit in the luxury SUV market, proving that a proper, go-anywhere 4x4 didn’t have to be rough around the edges. It could compete with the BMW X5 and Mercedes ML-Class in comfort while leaving them for dead the moment the road turned into a trail.
Today, the Discovery Mk3 is still a favourite among Land Rover enthusiasts, known for its uncompromising off-road ability, solid build, and timeless design. It’s not the cheapest SUV to maintain, but for those who love proper 4x4s, there’s still nothing quite like it.
If you ever get behind the wheel of one, don’t be surprised if you suddenly feel the urge to drive across a continent. Because that’s what the Discovery Mk3 was made for. Adventure. Anywhere, anytime.
