Product information

Race Plastics polycarbonate windows are handcrafted to order by our expert UK team. Designed for motorsport and high-performance use, they’re lightweight, tough, and completely shatterproof—unlike glass or standard acrylics, which can crack under stress.

Our standard windows use 4mm polycarbonate to meet Motorsport UK regulations. We also offer 5mm options that are FIA compliant, plus hard-coated variants for added durability and resistance to scratching.

All windows are available in clear, bronze, or grey tint to suit your vehicle’s design. You can also add window sliders to either or both front doors, depending on your setup.

Window Sliders

Each slider kit is made from the same polycarbonate as your chosen windows. Designed for both driver and passenger sides, these sliders are reliable, practical, and easy to install.

Choose between:

  • Three-position locking with a smooth, rattle-free action
  • Simple two-position setup for fast and secure use

Sliders are engineered to avoid scratching and sit flush with your window kit. Ideal for improving airflow on track days or road builds. More info is available on our Window Slider Kits page.

Shipping times

Once your order’s confirmed, we’ll get started. Most standard orders are manufactured and dispatched within 3 weeks. Custom or hard-coated versions may take a little longer—we’ll contact you with a lead time. If you need your order by a specific date, let us know and we’ll aim to meet it.

Can I fit the windows myself?

Yes, installation is usually straightforward. There are helpful videos online, and our windows are designed to fit into standard rubber seals unless otherwise noted. If you need bolt-in variants, just contact us.

Can I collect my order?

Collection from our UK facility is available by arrangement. Most international orders are shipped, but we’re happy to sort collection if needed—just get in touch.

Want to change your order?

Reach out as early as possible. We’ll always try to accommodate changes, but if manufacturing has already started, there may be a charge.

The BMW E30 2dr M3 Coupe rally car

If the standard E30 was a great driver’s car, the M3 was a full-blown motorsport weapon. Born out of necessity for Group A racing homologation, BMW took the already capable 3 Series and turned it into one of the most dominant touring cars of all time. Wide arches, a screaming high-revving engine, and handling so precise it felt like telepathy, the E30 M3 wasn’t just good, it was untouchable.
Launched in 1986, the E30 M3 came with a naturally aspirated 2.3L four-cylinder, the legendary S14 engine. Unlike the six-cylinder models in the standard E30 range, the S14 was built for relentless high-revving action. It might not have had the grunt of a bigger displacement engine, but it made up for it with razor-sharp throttle response and a soundtrack that only got better the harder you pushed it. Designed by BMW Motorsport, this engine was built to be wrung out, with peak power arriving at high RPMs, exactly what you want in a race car. The engine would later be enlarged in the Evolution models, eventually reaching 2.5L in the Sport Evolution, but even in its original form, it was a masterpiece of balance, efficiency, and motorsport pedigree.
BMW didn’t just slap an M badge on this thing, it was a complete overhaul. The boxy flared fenders weren’t just for show; they were needed to accommodate the wider track and larger wheels. The rear window had a steeper rake, the C-pillar was reworked, and the boot lid was reshaped, all in the name of aerodynamics. The suspension was completely retuned with a revised geometry that made it sharper and more stable under high-speed cornering. Even the steering system was more direct, giving the M3 a level of precision that made it feel like an extension of the driver.
Where the E30 M3 truly earned its stripes was in competition. It wasn’t just successful, it dominated. From the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (DTM) to the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC), and even endurance racing, the M3 was the car to beat. It took home multiple championship titles, often leaving its rivals trailing in its wake. In an era where touring car racing was brutally competitive, the E30 M3 established itself as the benchmark. It’s still the most successful touring car of all time, with more wins across various disciplines than just about any other production-based racer.
And it wasn’t just about circuit racing. While BMW’s rallying history is often overshadowed by Audi’s Quattro dominance and Lancia’s rally legends, the E30 M3 made its mark in rallying too. The rear-wheel-drive setup made it a favourite for tarmac rallies, where its precision handling and rev-happy engine made it a formidable competitor. It might not have been the go-to choice for loose gravel or snow-covered stages, but on the right surface, it was a weapon.
On the road, the E30 M3 demanded commitment. This wasn’t a car built for lazy cruising, it was a machine that rewarded skill, aggression, and a willingness to push it to its limits. It thrived on high revs, begged to be thrown into corners, and gave back tenfold when driven properly. No electronic assists, no fancy driver aids, just pure mechanical connection between the car, the road, and the driver.
Even decades later, the E30 M3 remains the holy grail for BMW enthusiasts. Prices have skyrocketed, but for good reason, it’s a car that defines an era, a machine that turned the 3 Series into a motorsport legend, and one of the purest driving experiences ever built. It’s not just nostalgia keeping the E30 M3’s reputation alive. It’s because cars like this don’t come around often. If you see one, count yourself lucky. If you get to drive one, never let go.
