Product information
Race Plastics polycarbonate windows are handcrafted to order by our expert UK team. Designed for motorsport and high-performance use, they’re lightweight, tough, and completely shatterproof—unlike glass or standard acrylics, which can crack under stress.
Our standard windows use 4mm polycarbonate to meet Motorsport UK regulations. We also offer 5mm options that are FIA compliant, plus hard-coated variants for added durability and resistance to scratching.
All windows are available in clear, bronze, or grey tint to suit your vehicle’s design. You can also add window sliders to either or both front doors, depending on your setup.
Window Sliders
Each slider kit is made from the same polycarbonate as your chosen windows. Designed for both driver and passenger sides, these sliders are reliable, practical, and easy to install.
Choose between:
- Three-position locking with a smooth, rattle-free action
- Simple two-position setup for fast and secure use
Sliders are engineered to avoid scratching and sit flush with your window kit. Ideal for improving airflow on track days or road builds. More info is available on our Window Slider Kits page.
Shipping times
Once your order’s confirmed, we’ll get started. Most standard orders are manufactured and dispatched within 3 weeks. Custom or hard-coated versions may take a little longer—we’ll contact you with a lead time. If you need your order by a specific date, let us know and we’ll aim to meet it.
Can I fit the windows myself?
Yes, installation is usually straightforward. There are helpful videos online, and our windows are designed to fit into standard rubber seals unless otherwise noted. If you need bolt-in variants, just contact us.
Can I collect my order?
Collection from our UK facility is available by arrangement. Most international orders are shipped, but we’re happy to sort collection if needed—just get in touch.
Want to change your order?
Reach out as early as possible. We’ll always try to accommodate changes, but if manufacturing has already started, there may be a charge.

The Ginetta G50 rally car
Some race cars arrive with a legacy already written. Others, like the Ginetta G50, grab the world by the scruff of the neck and force people to take notice. This wasn’t a car built to follow in the footsteps of the greats, it was built to become one.
Launched in 2008 to celebrate Ginetta’s 50th anniversary, the G50 was designed with one job in mind, dominate the track. Ginetta had been making lightweight, race-ready sports cars for decades, but the G50 was their first purpose-built GT4 racer, stepping up into serious competition against the likes of Porsches, Aston Martins, and Lotus race cars. It wasn’t just another small British sports car, it was a statement.
Under the bonnet sat a 3.5-litre Ford V6, a naturally aspirated unit that produced 300 horsepower. That might not sound like much in the world of high-performance racing, but then you realise the G50 only weighed around 1,000kg. That’s a power-to-weight ratio that made much more expensive GT cars look a bit silly. With its perfectly balanced chassis, aggressive aerodynamics, and track-focused suspension, the G50 wasn’t just quick in a straight line, it was an absolute weapon in the corners.
From the moment it hit the track, the G50 proved it was here to win. It immediately found success in the British GT Championship and the European GT4 series, taking on much bigger names and holding its own. It was faster through the bends, lighter on its feet, and easier to push to the limit than many of its rivals. This was the kind of car that rewarded skill, making it a favourite among both amateur and pro drivers who wanted something that felt raw, alive, and brutally effective.
What made the G50 even more special was its simplicity and toughness. Unlike some race cars that needed constant maintenance, the G50 was reliable, easy to work on, and built like a proper endurance machine. You could throw it into a full-season of racing and it wouldn’t just survive, it would keep getting quicker.
It wasn’t just a GT4 racer either. Ginetta offered road-legal versions, bringing that race-car-for-the-road experience to drivers who wanted something truly special. Stripped-down, no-frills, with a chassis that made you feel every bump, every weight transfer, every moment of grip, it was the kind of car that made every drive feel like a qualifying lap.
As the years went on, the G50 evolved into even more hardcore versions, including the G55, which continued Ginetta’s legacy in GT4 racing. But the G50 was the one that put Ginetta back on the international racing map, proving that you didn’t need a massive budget or a big-name badge to build a car that could win.
Even today, the Ginetta G50 remains one of the best GT4 cars ever built, a true underdog success story that showed the world how much performance you could squeeze out of a lightweight, beautifully balanced machine. Whether on a historic racing grid, a track day, or parked in a garage waiting for its next blast around a circuit, the G50 still feels like it was built for one thing, racing.
If you ever get the chance to drive one, don’t waste it. It’s pure, no-nonsense motorsport, wrapped in a British-built package that takes no shortcuts and makes no apologies. Fast, sharp, and always ready for a fight, the G50 isn’t just a great race car. It’s a giant killer.
