Product information

Race Plastics polycarbonate windows are handcrafted to order by our expert UK team. Designed for motorsport and high-performance use, they’re lightweight, tough, and completely shatterproof—unlike glass or standard acrylics, which can crack under stress.

Our standard windows use 4mm polycarbonate to meet Motorsport UK regulations. We also offer 5mm options that are FIA compliant, plus hard-coated variants for added durability and resistance to scratching.

All windows are available in clear, bronze, or grey tint to suit your vehicle’s design. You can also add window sliders to either or both front doors, depending on your setup.

Window Sliders

Each slider kit is made from the same polycarbonate as your chosen windows. Designed for both driver and passenger sides, these sliders are reliable, practical, and easy to install.

Choose between:

  • Three-position locking with a smooth, rattle-free action
  • Simple two-position setup for fast and secure use

Sliders are engineered to avoid scratching and sit flush with your window kit. Ideal for improving airflow on track days or road builds. More info is available on our Window Slider Kits page.

Shipping times

Once your order’s confirmed, we’ll get started. Most standard orders are manufactured and dispatched within 3 weeks. Custom or hard-coated versions may take a little longer—we’ll contact you with a lead time. If you need your order by a specific date, let us know and we’ll aim to meet it.

Can I fit the windows myself?

Yes, installation is usually straightforward. There are helpful videos online, and our windows are designed to fit into standard rubber seals unless otherwise noted. If you need bolt-in variants, just contact us.

Can I collect my order?

Collection from our UK facility is available by arrangement. Most international orders are shipped, but we’re happy to sort collection if needed—just get in touch.

Want to change your order?

Reach out as early as possible. We’ll always try to accommodate changes, but if manufacturing has already started, there may be a charge.

The Triumph TR6 rally car

The Triumph TR6, produced between 1968 and 1976, is often considered one of the finest classic British roadsters ever built. Combining old-school charm, muscular styling, and a torquey straight-six engine, the TR6 was the last true evolution of the traditional Triumph TR series before the brand shifted towards a more modern design philosophy. Rugged, powerful, and packed with character, the TR6 remains a true driver’s car, delivering raw, engaging motoring in its purest form.
At first glance, the TR6 had classic British roadster proportions, a long bonnet, short rear deck, and low-slung stance that made it look purposeful and aggressive. Triumph updated the styling with help from Karmann, giving the TR6 a sharper, squared-off front and rear end while keeping the familiar curved profile and wide stance. The result was a car that looked both elegant and muscular, with just the right balance of aggression and refinement.
Under the bonnet sat a 2.5-litre inline-six, producing 150 horsepower in the early fuel-injected UK models and around 104 horsepower in the carburetted US versions (due to emissions restrictions). This engine delivered strong mid-range torque, making the TR6 effortlessly quick for its time, with a 0-60 mph time of around 8.5 seconds. Paired with a four-speed manual gearbox (with optional overdrive), the TR6 had a smooth yet punchy power delivery, making it a joy to drive whether cruising or pushing it hard on twisty roads.
One of the TR6’s biggest strengths was its handling and driving feel. It featured independent rear suspension, a rarity in many roadsters of the time, giving it a more planted, balanced ride compared to earlier TR models. The rack-and-pinion steering was direct and full of feedback, while the relatively wide track and rear-wheel-drive layout made it predictable and engaging in the corners. The TR6 was a car that rewarded enthusiastic driving, with a mechanical, no-nonsense feel that made every drive an event.
Inside, the TR6 was simple but effective, with a wood-trimmed dashboard, classic Smiths dials, and supportive bucket seats. There wasn’t much in the way of luxury, but that wasn’t the point, the TR6 was all about driving enjoyment. The cockpit had a snug, driver-focused layout, making you feel properly connected to the road.
The TR6 wasn’t just a great road car, it also had motorsport potential. Many privateer teams campaigned TR6s in club racing and rallying, where the strong engine, durable chassis, and well-balanced handling made it a competitive machine. While it never achieved massive factory-backed success, it remained a favourite among enthusiasts looking for a powerful yet affordable racing platform.
By the mid-1970s, stricter emissions regulations and changing market demands meant that the TR6 was reaching the end of its lifespan. Triumph replaced it with the TR7, a completely new wedge-shaped design that lacked the classic appeal of the TR6. Though the TR7 had its own merits, it never quite captured the raw driving experience and timeless charm of its predecessor.
Today, the Triumph TR6 is one of the most beloved British roadsters, with a strong following among classic car enthusiasts. Its combination of straight-six power, sharp handling, and classic styling makes it one of the best-value vintage sports cars on the market. Whether enjoyed as a weekend cruiser, a backroad toy, or even a track-ready classic racer, the TR6 remains one of Triumph’s greatest achievements, a car that delivers pure, unfiltered driving joy.
