Buying a set of windows for your car can raise a number of questions in your head - we have put the most commonly asked here, but feel free to contact us if you want to discuss any of these or other points you may have.
Ordering & Delivery
How fast is delivery?
We will confirm receipt of your order straight away. Standard polycarbonate orders are usually manufactured and dispatched within 3 weeks from the date of order. Specialist options (like hard-coated windows) may take longer. We’ll confirm estimated lead times when you order and keep you updated throughout.

Do you deliver to Northern Ireland, Highlands, etc?
Yes, we deliver across the UK, including Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands, and other remote locations. Delivery costs may vary depending on the location and parcel size. You’ll see any extra charges at checkout. Visit our Delivery Information page for further details.
Can I choose a delivery date or time?
We will confirm receipt of your order straight away. Standard polycarbonate orders are usually manufactured and despatched within 3 weeks of the order being placed. Specialist orders - for example if you choose hard-coating plastic - will take longer, but we will contact you and discuss this with you. If you need your order by a certain date then please let us know.
Do you ship outside the UK?
Yes! We can ship your order to anywhere in the world. Shipping costs and timescales vary depending on destination. If you're ordering from outside the UK, please email support@raceplastics.com with your location and we’ll provide a quote. Visit our Delivery Information page for further details.
Can I amend or cancel my order after placing it?
If you need to discuss or change your order in any way, contact us at the earliest chance. We will always try to accommodate changes, but please note that costs may be incurred if the manufacturing process has already started. Call us on 0113 868 8941 or email support@raceplastics.com.
Can I track my order?
Yes. Once your order ships, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a tracking link. If you haven’t received this, please check your spam folder or contact us. Visit our Delivery Information page for further details.
Do you offer click and collect?
Yes, we usually courier orders to our customers, but if you prefer to collect, we can arrange this from our Leeds factory. Contact us before placing your order to confirm timings and collection details. Visit our Delivery Information page for further details.
Returns, Support & Installation Help
What’s your returns policy?
Because all RacePlastics products are made to order, we do not accept returns for change of mind.
We will of course replace any item that arrives damaged or defective. Visit our Delivery Information page for further details.
What if my order arrives damaged or incomplete?
Contact us immediately via support@raceplastics.com or call 0113 868 8941. Include your order number and, if possible, a photo of the issue. We'll sort it quickly; whether that means replacing an item or chasing the courier.
Can I speak to someone for help?

Can I get technical advice or installation help?
Yes. We’ve fitted windows ourselves and helped hundreds of customers do the same. There are plenty of installation guides and videos on YouTube, and we’re happy to give advice based on your car and window type.

What are your support hours?
We’re available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (UK time). Outside these hours, send us an email and we’ll reply as soon as we can.
Product, Stock & Fit
Is this in stock?
All RacePlastics windows are made to order, so we don’t hold stock in the traditional sense. Typical lead time is 2–3 weeks depending on your spec. Contact us if you need a faster turnaround.
Do you offer trade or bulk discounts?
Yes, if you plan to order large quantities or place a high-value order, email support@raceplastics.com with details. As we manufacture all our products, we can offer discounts on qualifying orders.
Is there a warranty or guarantee?
We stand by the quality of our products. If your window arrives damaged or develops a fault due to manufacturing error, we’ll replace it. For track damage or misuse, we can advise on repairs or replacements. Visit our Delivery Information page for further details on returns.
How do I know this will work for me?
We manufacture windows for specific makes and models, with precision fitment and correct cut lines.
If you're unsure, contact us with your car make, model, and use case (road, track, MSA regs, etc), and we’ll advise.
What is the difference between Lexan, Makrolon and Polycarbonate?
They’re the same! Lexan and Makrolon are just brand names for polycarbonate sheet made by specific manufacturers. Other names you might come across include Cyrolon, Merlon, Tuffak, and Zelux.
All of them are strong, lightweight, and impact-resistant polycarbonate products suitable for motorsport applications.
Can I fit the window myself?
Yes! It’s straightforward to remove an existing window and install a RacePlastics polycarbonate window. Most customers fit them at home or at the workshop. There are plenty of YouTube guides to help, or give us a call if you’re stuck.

Where are you based?
We're based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, right in the heart of the UK motorsport and engineering scene. All of our windows are designed, cut, and finished in-house at our Leeds facility. This gives us full control over quality, lead times, and custom options.
Are you a UK company?
Yes, RacePlastics is a fully UK-owned and operated company. Our team, workshop, and customer support are all based in Leeds.
We work with customers across the UK, Europe, and beyond, but we’re proudly rooted in British motorsport culture.
Do you have reviews or case studies?

Do you offer trade accounts or loyalty schemes?
We don’t currently run a formal trade account or loyalty programme but we do offer custom pricing for bulk orders, repeat customers, and race teams ordering multiple kits.

Can I get a VAT invoice?
Yes, you’ll automatically receive a VAT invoice by email after placing your order. Need another copy? Contact us and we’ll resend it.
