Product information
Our polycarbonate windows are hand crafted to order by our experienced UK based team. They are designed to be safe, strong and lightweight, making them ideal for motorsport. They are much stronger than glass and shatterproof, unlike Perspex and other acrylics, so you are well protected whilst driving.
Our standard windows are manufactured from 4mm thick polycarbonate to comply with Motorsport UK regulations, whilst we also offer 5mm FIA compliant and hard-coated options for those looking tougher windows.
All of our windows are available in a choice of clear, bronze or grey polycarbonate so can choose the windows that best suit your car. You also have the option to add window sliders to either one or both of the front door windows depending on your preference.
Window sliders
Upgrade your vehicle with the Race Plastics Window Slider Kit, designed for both driver and navigator sides. Crafted from the same high-quality polycarbonate as your chosen window, these sliders ensure seamless integration and durability. Choose between two locking systems: the Click-Click Bearing Lock for smooth, rattle-free operation with three adjustable positions, or the Split-Pin Lock for a simple, secure, and reliable solution with two preset positions.
Engineered for flawless fitment and effortless installation, our sliders prevent rubbing and scratching, keeping your windows looking sharp. Whether you need maximum airflow on the track or controlled ventilation on the road, this upgrade delivers race-ready performance. For more details, check out our Window Slider Kits.
How long does an order take to ship?
We will confirm receipt of your order straight away and will be in touch if we have any questions regarding your order. Standard polycarbonate orders are usually manufactured and despatched within 3 weeks of the order being placed. Specialist orders - for example if you choose hard-coating plastic - will take longer, but we will contact you and discuss this with you. If you need your order by a certain date then please let us know.
Can I fit the window myself?
Yes, it is straight forward to remove an existing window and install a RacePlastics polycarbonate window. There are plenty of guides on YouTube to help you do this. Unless otherwise stated, all windows are designed to be fitted into rubber seals, please contact us if you require bolt in versions.
Can I collect the order myself?
Yes, we usually courier orders out to our customers, but if you contact us, we can arrange for collection from our Leeds factory.
How can I change my order?
If you need to discuss or change your order in any way, please get in touch with the team at the earliest chance. We will always try to accommodate any changes but costs may be incurred if the manufacturing process has already started.

The BMW E30 2dr 3 Series Coupe rally car
If there’s one car that cemented BMW’s reputation for building ultimate driving machines, it’s the E30 3 Series. Launched in 1982, this was the car that took everything great about the E21 and turned it up to eleven. It had sharper handling, a more refined chassis, and, most importantly, it laid the groundwork for one of the most legendary racing machines ever, the E30 M3.
While the E30 was a solid performer straight off the showroom floor, its real magic was unlocked on the track and rally stages. This thing was a proper giant killer. Whether it was slicing through winding backroads or going full-send in the European Touring Car Championship, the E30 had a balance and feedback that made it a dream to drive. BMW’s engineers got the formula just right, rear-wheel drive, a near-perfect weight distribution, and a selection of engines that ranged from eager four-pots to the sweet-revving six-cylinder 325i.
And then there was the E30 M3. Homologated for Group A racing, this was the car that turned the 3 Series into a motorsport legend. Wide box arches, a high-revving 2.3L four-cylinder, and razor-sharp handling made it a dominant force in touring car racing throughout the late ‘80s and early ‘90s. It racked up wins everywhere, from the DTM to the BTCC, solidifying itself as one of the greatest performance cars of all time.
Rally teams weren’t about to let the E30’s potential go to waste either. The 325iX, with its all-wheel-drive system, became a favourite in rally circuits, taking on gravel and snow stages with surprising agility. While the E30 is usually remembered for its track dominance, it proved just as capable with a bit of dirt under its wheels. Privateer teams ran rear-wheel-drive 325is in rallying too, relying on the car’s beautifully balanced chassis and torquey straight-six to dance through the stages. It might not have had the turbo grunt of its AWD rivals, but in the right hands, it was a weapon.
What really makes the E30 special is how it blends raw, analogue driving with an everyday usability that few performance cars of its era could match. It wasn’t just a racer’s car, it was a car for everyone. Whether you were blasting through backroads, taking it to a track day, or just enjoying a weekend drive, the E30 made every journey feel like an event.
Even today, the E30 remains a favourite among enthusiasts and collectors. The M3 has become a six-figure legend, but even the standard 325i still commands respect as one of the most engaging driver’s cars ever built. If you see one out in the wild, chances are it’s being driven properly, because that’s exactly what the E30 was made for.
