Product information
Our polycarbonate windows are hand crafted to order by our experienced UK based team. They are designed to be safe, strong and lightweight, making them ideal for motorsport. They are much stronger than glass and shatterproof, unlike Perspex and other acrylics, so you are well protected whilst driving.
Our standard windows are manufactured from 4mm thick polycarbonate to comply with Motorsport UK regulations, whilst we also offer 5mm FIA compliant and hard-coated options for those looking tougher windows.
All of our windows are available in a choice of clear, bronze or grey polycarbonate so can choose the windows that best suit your car. You also have the option to add window sliders to either one or both of the front door windows depending on your preference.
Window sliders
Upgrade your vehicle with the Race Plastics Window Slider Kit, designed for both driver and navigator sides. Crafted from the same high-quality polycarbonate as your chosen window, these sliders ensure seamless integration and durability. Choose between two locking systems: the Click-Click Bearing Lock for smooth, rattle-free operation with three adjustable positions, or the Split-Pin Lock for a simple, secure, and reliable solution with two preset positions.
Engineered for flawless fitment and effortless installation, our sliders prevent rubbing and scratching, keeping your windows looking sharp. Whether you need maximum airflow on the track or controlled ventilation on the road, this upgrade delivers race-ready performance. For more details, check out our Window Slider Kits.
How long does an order take to ship?
We will confirm receipt of your order straight away and will be in touch if we have any questions regarding your order. Standard polycarbonate orders are usually manufactured and despatched within 3 weeks of the order being placed. Specialist orders - for example if you choose hard-coating plastic - will take longer, but we will contact you and discuss this with you. If you need your order by a certain date then please let us know.
Can I fit the window myself?
Yes, it is straight forward to remove an existing window and install a RacePlastics polycarbonate window. There are plenty of guides on YouTube to help you do this. Unless otherwise stated, all windows are designed to be fitted into rubber seals, please contact us if you require bolt in versions.
Can I collect the order myself?
Yes, we usually courier orders out to our customers, but if you contact us, we can arrange for collection from our Leeds factory.
How can I change my order?
If you need to discuss or change your order in any way, please get in touch with the team at the earliest chance. We will always try to accommodate any changes but costs may be incurred if the manufacturing process has already started.

The Morgan Aero 8 rally car
The Morgan Aero 8 is one of those cars that defies convention. A perfect blend of old-school craftsmanship and modern performance, it took everything people thought they knew about Morgan and turned it on its head. Launched in 2000, the Aero 8 was Morgan’s first all-new car in decades, and while it retained the company’s signature retro styling, underneath it was a seriously capable performance machine.
Unlike previous Morgans, which stuck to traditional wooden chassis construction, the Aero 8 was built around a lightweight aluminium chassis, making it stronger, stiffer, and much lighter than its predecessors. This shift in engineering philosophy meant the Aero 8 wasn’t just about vintage looks, it had the handling and speed to match proper sports cars.
Power came from a BMW-sourced 4.4-litre V8, producing 286 horsepower in early models, later upgraded to a 4.8-litre unit with 362 horsepower. In a car that weighed just over a tonne, that meant serious performance. With a 0-60mph time of around 4.5 seconds and a top speed exceeding 170mph, this was the fastest Morgan ever built at the time. The power delivery was smooth yet savage, with a deep, growling exhaust note that made it clear this wasn’t just another old-school cruiser.
But the Aero 8 wasn’t just about straight-line speed, it was built to handle. The combination of its lightweight chassis, double-wishbone suspension, and near 50:50 weight distribution meant it was surprisingly agile, gripping the road with confidence and offering an engaging, unfiltered driving experience. With no electronic interference, no stability control, and pure hydraulic steering, it delivered a raw and mechanical feel, something that modern sports cars often lack.
The design, however, was something of a talking point. The Aero 8 retained classic Morgan styling, but with a unique twist, the infamous cross-eyed headlights. This unconventional front-end look sparked plenty of debate, with some loving its quirky charm while others were less convinced. Morgan later revised the design, but by then, the Aero 8 had already cemented its reputation as a maverick, a car that didn’t care about fitting in.
Inside, it was hand-crafted British luxury at its finest. Leather, wood, and aluminium dominated the cabin, with each Aero 8 being built to order and customised to the buyer’s specifications. It had a sense of occasion that few modern cars could match, stepping inside felt like entering a time machine that had been upgraded with just the right amount of modern performance.
On the road, the Aero 8 was a unique blend of tradition and technology, offering classic open-top motoring with a modern supercar’s performance. It was a car that didn’t just turn heads, it made people stop and stare. You didn’t drive an Aero 8 to blend in. You drove it because you wanted something different, something with soul, something that combined old-world charm with serious driving thrills.
Today, the Aero 8 is considered one of Morgan’s boldest creations, a car that proved they could evolve without losing their identity. It’s rare, special, and completely unlike anything else on the road, making it one of the most desirable modern British sports cars for those who appreciate character as much as performance.
